Leadership Practices for Healthy, Just, and Inclusive Community
February 27th, 2018
1:00pm-4:30pm
Waiting for the bus. Shopping for groceries. Attending events. We see our neighbors and coworkers, but how well do we understand and connect with each other? Although we are living side-by-side, our experiences with these common activities can differ significantly based on our social memberships. In many ways we live in parallel universes with different realities often separated along demographic lines.

What does it mean to be a whole community, and what does it take to build it in an ever-changing, siloed multicultural society? How is being a “holder of community” a vital role for leaders? What brings people together to collectively forge solutions to critical issues of our day?

This workshop considers those questions, as it explores the interface between leadership and community in a society both blessed and challenged by cultural difference. Using CEL’s framework for advancing social change in service of the common good, this workshop will explore leadership principles and practices that help build healthy, just, inclusive communities.
